The new version of our free e-book “Three Steps to Intelligence-Led Policing” now contains information about the reliable use of LLMs for law enforcement purposes
In the past two years, large language models (LLMs) have evolved into a mature technology that’s being used to increase efficiency in many sectors. At GraphAware we believe that intelligence analysis in law enforcement aided by LLMs can bring benefits to the investigative process, gaining new insights and discovering important information more quickly. That’s why we’ve recently updated our most-downloaded resource, “Three Steps to Intelligence-Led Policing” e-book, with a wealth of information specific to opportunities created by large language models.
We recognise the concerns surrounding AI application in intelligence analysis in law enforcement environment. The e-book therefore underscores that LLM-generated insights must be transparent and support human analysis rather than replacing it. Human analysts must retain full oversight, with all automated insights and machine predictions being transparent, interpretable, and subject to human validation.
The author of our e-book, GraphAware’s Chief Scientist Alessandro Negro, has already written book about the use of LLMs in combination with knowledge graphs. In the new version of the e-book, he used his expertise to add in-depth information about leveraging the power of LLMs to extract reliable information from the large amounts of data that the law enforcement agencies gather on a daily basis. He believes the LLMs have the power to help the police transform this often fragmented information into holistic intelligence data with speed and at scale.
